Frigate Application Guide#
The MemryX + Frigate Control Center is your all-in-one platform for connecting cameras, configuring settings, and using Frigate for monitoring and analysis. This guide walks you through each step to help you get the most out of your Frigate setup.
Getting Started with Camera Setup#
Camera Setup Guide
If you are using an Amcrest Wi-Fi camera, follow this guide to complete the setup:
Note
Other camera brands: Refer to your camera’s manual or visit docs.frigate.video for RTSP configuration instructions.
Camera Configuration in Frigate#
Once your camera is set up, click the “Setup Your Camera” button in the Frigate application to begin adding it to the configuration.
This opens the Camera Configuration Panel.
You can add or edit multiple cameras.
Configure each camera by entering the name, RTSP URL, username, and password.
Camera Discovery:
Use the “Discover Camera” button to automatically find the IP addresses of available cameras.
Click “Start Scan” to detect cameras, then select the correct IP address from the list.
After selecting a camera, enter its username and password.
The system will automatically generate the RTSP URL based on the camera model.
You can also click “Manual” to edit the RTSP URL or change the stream type (Main or Sub Stream).
Starting Frigate#
Click the “Start Frigate” button to begin launching Frigate.
When you start Frigate, it will build and create a Docker container for the application. This process may take approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
Once the Frigate Docker container is built and running, you will see the Quick Actions panel, which includes options to:
Open Frigate Web UI — to access the dashboard interface.
Stop Frigate — to stop the running container.
Using Frigate Web UI#
After Frigate starts, click “Open Frigate Web UI” to launch the dashboard in Firefox at `localhost:5000`.
Live Camera View
In the Frigate Web UI, you can view the live camera feed. Left-click on a camera and select “Debug” to access its debug options.
Debug and Detection View
You can watch real-time object detection by enabling bounding boxes or selecting different debug options.
Reviewing Recordings
From the left-hand panel, click “Review” to browse recorded videos. You can sort recordings by date or detected objects for easier navigation.
Checking Logs#
If you want to check the logs in the application, click the “Logs” button. This will open the Frigate Docker container logs, where you can view runtime messages.
